Internships in Arboriculture & Urban Forestry
A requirement of the minor in arboriculture and urban forestry is that that student complete a summer internship. This is meant to be a practical experience in which that student works or a company, municipality or research organization that is engaged in arboriculture of urban forestry. This experience allows students to gain firsthand knowledge and interact with practitioner at a variety of levels and can lead to a permanent position upon graduation.
WVU students have interned with national, regional and local tree care companies as well as non-profit organizations. In addition annual opportunities are available with the Mid-Atlantic region and nationally.
